 Otomicroscopy

Otomicroscopy

Otomicroscopy is a technique where the ears are examined by the Ear, Nose, Throat surgeon using a microscope. This enables the surgeon to inspect the ear canal and the ear drum under magnification and accurately diagnose diseases of the outer and middle ear.

 

Aural Toilet

Aural toilet is an outpatient procedure where the ENT surgeon clears wax, debris or foreign bodies from the ear canal. This is usually done using the microscope (otomicroscopy) and suction (a mini-vacuum cleaner).This procedure is often used in treating patients with recurrent infections of the ear canal (otitis externa).
